About GOCASI
Gordon Care Samaritan International - Championing human rights and empowering vulnerable communities since 2006
Our Story
Gordon Care Samaritan International (GOCASI) is a non-profit, non-religious, non-denominational, non-governmental organization (NGO) founded by Mr. Obadiah Makhali David in 2006.
The organization was born after Mr. Makhali led a group of Christian lawyers, teachers, medical personnel, and journalists to internally displaced peoples camps in northern Uganda. Witnessing the dire needs and incessant human rights abuses, he was moved to action.
After three years of consultation with advocacy firms, opinion leaders, local council leaders, religious leaders, and various stakeholders, GOCASI was established to address critical gaps in legal aid services, health education, income generation, and support for marginalized groups.
